When all that fills our sight is darkness,

And we are under the cover of our blankets.

When the footsteps of the insects become heard,

And the voices of the crickets sound the loudest.

When the air blows the coldest,

And the moon and stars shine the brightest.

When what we think about is endless,

And we are soon to walk into unconsciousness.

When we finally give in to our breath,

And our mind find rest.

May he that sees and never sleep, keep watch over us.
